Zion Evangelical Church, affectionately called “The Castle in the Cornfield,” was first launched in Shelbyville, Indiana in 1836. Originally an entirely German-speaking congregation, the church has been a key part of the community for a long, long time.

We believe that church is a family, not a business. We do life together, serve each other, and serve our community as best we can, with God’s help. The end goal of all of this is to help each other follow Jesus a little bit better than we did yesterday.

Our current sermon series is from 1st and 2nd Samuel, and focuses on the life of King David.
