Jesus calls us to a life of radical servanthood (Mark 10:43-45). Below are opportunities for you to get involved and serve the community.
Serve
Below are some ways we serve the community
Bread and Blessing
Bread and Blessing is an outreach ministry in which a delicious meal is prepared and delivered to the community. 120 meals are cooked and delivered all over Shelby County. There are multiple ways to serve in this ministry, from cooking part of the meal to delivering the meals to kitchen clean up afterwards.
2nd Thursday. 4-7p
Laundry Love
We partner together with Water Works Express Laundry and Zion pays for (up to) 60 pounds of laundry per person to be washed and dried. Our volunteers work in 2 hour shifts and have a wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel with people who are waiting for their laundry to finish.
4th Tuesday, 12:30-6:30p
Our Women’s Guild has a variety of ministries and activities that serve the church and the community. They have regularly scheduled sewing days, they put on a Christmas dinner, they prepare funeral dinners, and much more!
Women’s Guild
The Zion Hammers is a group that enjoys working with tools and building things. They can often be found building wheelchair/ADA accessible ramps for people around Shelby and Rush Counties. These ramps, and other projects, are often built for people who otherwise would have struggled to afford them.
